Jolicloud Netbook OS Is a Bit Like Chrome OS with Awesome Desktop Applications

Chrome OS is a promising cloud-based operating system, but the big complaint most people have about it is that Chrome OS is entirely browser-based. New netbook OS Jolicloud is a lot like Chrome OS, but with the addition of killer desktop apps.

Before you even consider Jolicloud, you may want to look at their big list of compatible devices. It’s pretty huge, and I’d also suspect not complete. What Works: The Web Way vs. The Wave Way

Anil Dash napísal pekný článok o Google Wave. Vyjadril zaujímavé myšlienky a tiež ako ja, verí v úspech tejto novej “hračky”. Je to naozaj pekné čítanie.

Google Wave is an impressive set of technologies, the kind of stunningly slick application that literally makes developers stand up and cheer. I’ve played with the Google Wave test sandbox a bit, and while it’s definitely too complex to live up to the “this will replace email!” hype that greeted its launch, it certainly has some cool features. Google Wave

Koncom mája sa konala v San Francisco Developer Confernece Google I/O 2009. Na konferencii bol prezentovaný zaujímaví projekt, ktorý pomáha používateľom komunikovať a kolaborovať na webe.

Po prečítaní pár článkov a prezretí Google Wave Developer Preview sa mi tento projekt začína páčiť. Myšlienka ani technológia (XMPP) na ktorej je projekt postavený nie je nová. Je to ale niečo, čo prvý krát túto myšlienku zreálnilo.
